Giving new meaning to both the Le Corbusier quote ‘Home is a machine for living in’ and the concept of a Rubix cube, architect Gary Chang has concocted an elaborate design for a square-foot-friendly, futuristic apartment in Hong Kong.

Intricately devised to offer 24 layouts in a single room, New York Times writer Virginia Gardener provides details of Chang’s innovative project, the twenty-plus possible floor plans of which span from an extra-large Duravit bathtub concealed behind one moveable wall, to a dining room and wet bar behind another.


MLS Fee Feud

Controversy is rife surrounding Joe William and his company Best Value Real Estate Ltd, and their pending arrival in Toronto. Creator of the self-proclaimed ‘most hated brokerage in Ottawa’, William has been under fire from the CREA for his offer of a mere $109 fee per MLS listing.

Deemed ‘anti-competitive’ in a highly populated market where contest already abounds, Tony Wong argues that William won’t afford the organization much backing if called to testify. Either way, be it William or the CREA who are justified in their discontent, it will undoubtedly herald a lengthy dispute for the federal Competition Tribunal.

Imagine dynamic ads being shown to you as you browse a Google Maps. Apparently, it’s not as far off as you might think according to a patent filed by Google descriptively titled “Claiming Real Estate in Panoramic or 3D Mapping Environments for Advertisingā€.
